Mother Teresa on Sharing

Accept the gifts of God and be deeply grateful. If He has given you great wealth, make good use of it, try to share it with others, with those who do not have anything.
Always share with others because even with a little help you may save them from becoming distressed.
And do not take more than you need, that's all. Just accept whatever comes.

Sharing in Mother's work with a sari.

ne day a lady came to Mother Teresa dressed in a very expensive sari. She told Mother Teresa "Mother, I want to share in your work." Mother Teresa prayed for a moment to get the right answer to give her about sharing in her work, and she told her "I would begin with the sari. You start buying a cheaper sari each month, and the money you save, you bring it to me for the poor."

So the lady started buying cheaper saris and she told Mother Teresa that it had not only changed her life, but She really understood sharing, and the lady added that she had received much more than she had given.

Do small things with great love: Mother Teresa

o the Good God nothing is little, because He is so Great & we so small, that is why He stoops down & takes the trouble to make those little things for us. To give us a chance to prove our love for Him. Because He makes them they are very Great.

Be faithful in little practices of love, of little sacrifices, of the little interior modifications, of little fidelities to rule, which will build in you the life of holiness, make you Christ like.

Do not look for big things, just do small things with great love, the smaller the thing the greater must be our love.

Mother Teresa's letter to Archbishop

Place: Asansol, India               Date: 25th January 1947

Mother Teresa wrote to Archbishop Periea seeking permission to begin work with the poorest of the poor (only a few lines are written below)

Your Grace,

The longing to give all to our Lord and make many souls do the same remains the same.

I am aware that if the work begins than there will be plenty of loneliness, suffering & humiliations for me.

I have been burning with longing to love Him as He as never been loved before.

Please excuse this paper as I have no other kind. I am practicing Franciscan poverty.
It is lovely to be poor and to be free from so many things.

Pray for me

Your devoted child in Jesus Christ
