Sharing in Mother Teresa's work

One day a lady came to Mother Teresa dressed in a very expensive sari. She told Mother Teresa "Mother, I want to share in your work." Mother Teresa prayed for a moment to get the right answer to give her about sharing in her work, and she told her "I would begin with the sari. You start buying a cheaper sari each month, and the money you save, you bring it to me for the poor."

So the lady started buying cheaper saris and she told Mother Teresa that it had not only changed her life, but She really understood sharing, and the lady added that she had received much more than she had given.

Dalai Lama said "if you think only of yourself, if you forget the rights and wellbeing of others, or worse still if you exploit others, ultimately you will lose. You will have no friends who will show concern for your wellbeing. Moreover, if a tragedy befalls you, instead of feeling concern, others may secretly rejoice.
Dalai Lama continued : By contrast, if an individual is compassionate and altruistic and has the interest of others in mind, then irrespective of whether that person knows a lot of people,
whether that person moves or not, he or she will immediately make friends and when that person faces tragedy, there will be plenty of people who will come to help."
